cloudline — a city that hovered just above the ground.
The sky in Auckland always felt unusually low.
Clouds sat close to the ground, the air heavy with rain and silence. I didn't feel rooted here at first. I felt suspended — like I existed slightly outside my own life. In Korean I could express myself with depth and nuance. In English, I often felt painfully shallow, even with people I cared about.
But somewhere between quiet bus stops, wet roads, and fog-covered evenings, I slowly began building something that didn't need a translation.
Maybe that's why I stayed.
